My son had his original critter lunch box for kindergarten through 3rd grade (4 years of use!). He doesn't treat it very kindly and doesn't pack up his left overs very well. The inside wipes out--although the seems CAN be hard to wipe out. The outside gets grubby, but the material has held up well--no holes! His first critter was the shark--now he wants the raccoon.
I have a rather messy young daughter and would not recommend this lunch box for anyone who is not meticulous about how they put things away. It is extremely difficult to clean the seams and anything that spills remains in it and after less than a school year of use we have bought a new lunch box because this one smells so awful.
I have purchased critter lunch boxes for two of my girls and they have lasted 1st through 3rd grade. My girls rarely bought and there is not a tear or rip in this product! I am purchasing another for my youngest!
I've bought a Critter Lunch Box every year for school...I've never had a problem. It's durable, perfect size, and leak free. I don't have a problem cleaning it.. I actually turn it inside-out and rinse it under warm water directly under the tap. Perfect...I do not however wait a month to do that...every few days (or whenever messed) I give it a quick rinse and dry it off with paper towels, it never leaks through.
