My son's critter lunch box is still in working order but the lining is just starting to rip. He has used it for 3-4 days a week for three years!!! No problems with the zipper and he loves that it has a critter he picks. With his initials no one can take it and say it is theirs! I like how it stands up for a comparable price to licensed character boxes that don't stand up.
We have 3 kids in grade school and these are the best lunch boxes out there. Our oldest son has used it almost every school day for 4 years. The only reason we have had to buy a new one is that he put something hot into it and it melted part of the lining. Even then, it still hasn't fellen total apart like some of the others on the market. They are very durable and we wouldn't buy anything else.
We have 4 of these in our house and we love them. One is several years old, and even though it has a lot of stains, it still keeps things cool. My one complaint is that it has been difficult to clean if something really spills in it. Small amounts of liquids can be wiped up easily. I had some yogurt leak and it got through the seams. It now smells like sour milk! I've tried soaking it in soapy water, but it still smells funny. Still works...I just try not to get my nose to close to it.
