The lunchbox is very durable. The thing that separates this lunchbox from others you might find is that the lining doesn't crack and tear. Also, the size and shape is very functional. I can fit a sandwich box with several other food items comfortably beside it. I highly recommend getting it monogrammed.
I buy a new LLBean Lunch Box for my son every year. I do like the size, as well as the different compartments. I also like the different animals embroidered on them. What I do not like is that the seam inside is difficult to get crumbs out unless you rinse it under the faucet. Then you have to hope it's sunny out and have enough time to let it dry. Also, another thing I found out is that whenever my son accidently spills liquids from leftover drinks (Capri Suns), they leak right through to the outside of the lunchbox and get everything else wet and sticky. Because we live 1/2 the year in FL, the lunchbox will sit for hours in the hallway after lunch and eventually creates black mold spots (from moisture) on the bottom of the lunch box, which is hard to get out.
Roomier than most hard plastic boxes, easier to pack in a smaller book bag because of soft edges. Nice to have extra pockets. I like that there's no commercial advertising for toys, tv or products. It's a drag that they don't hold together as well as they used to. My now-much-older daughter had hers for years. My son has to replace his each year, zippers sometimes break, lining can tear if a child doesn't pay close attention to zipping up.
My daughter picked this lunch box out and really enjoys it. It cleans nicely and keeps food cold. Having the zipper in the front is great for additional storage.
