I purchased these boot for a trip to Venice, Italy in December. They were perfect. My feet were dry in the rain and never cold. (temperature ranged 35-45 degrees Fahrenheit.)
They are extremely comfortable. I walked from morning to night and my feet never tired. Of all my footwear they are actually the most comfortable pair that I own.
Some reviews mentioned that the calf area was too tight. They were perfect for me. My calves measure 14.5 inches.
I got these boots just in time for the Chicago winter to begin. I walk a mile from the train and they are very comfortable. They also keep my feet warm even when the windchill is -19F. They fit my calves- perhaps the other reviewers are thinner than I am. They are very easy to get on and off, the zippers are a plus. I would definitely recommend for anyone facing a midwestern winter.
I must say that these boots looked like they would be absolutely perfect for someone like me with cold feet all winter but looking for something slightly more stylish and all purpose than a winter lace up boot or hiking boot. After reading some mixed reviews about fit, I decided to order them. The heel height is perfect. The footbed was quite comfortable and I found the fit true-to-size to slightly small (but I liked that my foot felt snug). However, the upper part of the boot is a disappointment. I have small calves like another reviewer, but it wasn't so much the size as it was the shape of the upper part of the boot that was the problem. No matter what "fit" of jeans I tried on with these, you could definitely tell I was wearing boots! Maybe the shape would be a better fit on bigger calves, or maybe they would work with a loose trouser style pant leg, but I rarely wear those and am therefore sending back these beautiful boots! Had to give only two stars because of fit. Would give five for appearance. Can't comment on long term comfort.
