A little stiff at first and required a EE to get the width right. I replaced an earlier version that I wore completely out while many years of Volksmarching in Germany. They were the best low cut hiking shoes ever. GORTEX worked until the bottoms were gone!
Well constructed. I purchased my regular shoe size. It fit well in length and across the ball of the foot. But the heel seemed so wide, that it seems I am stepping out of the heel with every step. No way to tighten the heel. So I left them home when I went hiking in a national park this week and took some high top boots.
After reading through several reviews, I purchased a pair of these shoes.
However, to my regret, I ignored a recommendation that one previous reviewer had made to order these shoes a half size larger. The quality of the shoes is excellent, but in my experience, they are shorter and narrower than other makes.
I returned the shoes for a half size larger, and now I'm a happy clam. A good customer experience with LLBean.

This is my preferred Nordic Walking shoe, especially for longer walks in the 8-15 mile range. The shoe absorbs pavement shock very well, has good heel elevation, and the Vibram sole grips all kinds of pavement effectively without slipping.
In the summer I wear it with one layer of liner socks; in the winter with two layers of light/medium socks.
The shoe takes a few days to break in and needs to be laced tightly to prevent slipping. I purchased my first pair last summer and recently purchased a second pair.
