I looked at the style and quality of these low-cut hikers and wanted to own a pair. To get a comfortable fit, I tried three different sizes (US 7, 7 1/2, and 8). I took each pair home overnight and just could not get a comfortable fit. They felt very stiff and, after a couple hours, my feet had red areas where the shoes rubbed. I am a serious, long-time hiker/climber and owned Vasque, Asolo, and Sorel boots in sizes 7 - 8, with no problems. I don't know why I had this problem, but these well-made, Italian hikers are not for everyone. Good luck.
Bought the first pair a few yrs ago, I work as a ER nurse and they are still going strong. I bought the 2nd pair recently to have on backup. They are comfortable and I have wide feet and that is a big plus to find shoes that fit. I wear these for 12hr shifts on hard floors and they do the job. I have not worn them on the trail, but for my purposes they are great.
These are very well crafted walking/hiking shoes. They are particularly comfortable when walking on rocky surfaces. I have owned and enjoyed the same shoe in the mid-cut version. The shoes are a great value for the money.
I sell land. I've been buying a new pair of these shoes every 2-3 years for the last 8 years. The I still use the first pair for yard work. I judge a shoe (and socks) by not having to think about them when I'm wearing them. With this shoe, I can walk through puddles without getting my socks wet. I have even waded into streams with these on, and never had the need to change shoes until I got back home. Always comfortable. Always providing protection against sharp things, from rocks to scrap metal. that can hurt you feet and ruin your day. My biggest concern about this product is that one day they may stop making them!
