I have tried most models of LL Bean hiking boots, but I like these the best. Definitely worth the extra money. Very comfortable and keeps my feet dry and cool. Vibram sole is MUCH better on slippery surfaces and has great traction on rocks.
I bought these shoes for my husband, who has very narrow feet and is difficult to fit. He shook his head ruefully as he took them from the box, saying he really liked them but doubted they would fit.
But they did fit -- and fit great! And they're good looking, too. He's been wearing them practically every day and just loves them.
I walk many miles in these shoes, and find them very comfortable after a little initial stiffness. They are great for camping because they shed dew in the early morning grass.
