I will be sending back the shoes I received. They are well made and would be very durable. However, my narrow feet also have narrow ankles that these shoes did not fit snugly enough, even with tight lacing. They also seem to be too heavy for walking in a hot climate like San Antonio. At least we tried.

You might consider our Low-Cut Trail Model Hikers II, which have plenty of mesh in the upper for ventilation. I ordered these shoes with some reservations because I expected them to require significant breaking in before I could wear them for any length of time. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I found them comfortable for walking four miles and wearing all day immediately out of the box. Great shoes for casual wear and walking on various surfaces for exercise or recreation.
Very comfortable. They are a bit heavier than I like, but are very sturdy and I can tell they will last and stand up to use. I wear a 10.5 dress shoe. I ordered these in 11 and they fit fine.
