These boots fit and feel like slippers, but they are a superb hiking boot. They are very lightweight, yet rugged. I've hiked all winter long with this boot in rain and snow and slush and they have never failed to keep my feet dry and warm. All I needed to wear was a regular pair of light weight socks. Unlike other hiking boots I've worn, my feet feel comfortable in warmer weather as well. These boots are very well made. I wear a pedometer and I've walked over a hundred miles the month of January and February with these boots. I can highly recommend them.
I have worn my pair for several years. They fit well from the first wearing, are very waterproof and offer great foot protection when hiking. Only problem, the padding on top in the back came unstitched and the laces wore out, but, they have been used a lot in Chicago area winters. I plan to buy another pair.
I always wear 10 EE shoes. I purchased the Mountain Treads in this size. I wore the shoes and after walking a short distance, they were squeezing my feet. They are not true EE shoes, in my opinion. For the price, I believe they should run true to size. I am now left with taking them to a shoe repair shjop to see if they can be stretched in the width. I am disappointed in the product and would not recomment them to anyone.
