These are well made shoes but I ordered "extra wide-EE" shoes, these are NOT extra wide. Other EE boots I have ordered from LL Bean have fit well. I may return them.
I experimented with the mall type stores with their discount or cheaper brands. Will not do that again. I returned to LLBean where 3 years ago I got my original boots, bought the Gore-Tex Mountain Treads. They are absolutely great. Good fit, needing a little break-in, but the best low-cut hiking and walking shoes I have ever purchased.
Wore these shoes immediately after receiving them and they fit just perfectly. Walk every day and they just got more comfortable. A little pricey though.
An avid walker, I bought these because of the Gore-Tex soles. Previous experience with them (I bought a pair of boots with GT soles 40; YES 40 years ago and the soles STILL are on good shape) steered me to this purchase.
