My old low cut mtn treads were wearing out so I thought I would buy a backup pair because they where the best shoes I have ever bought at LLB. But, my exact type were no longer available because they had been "improved" due to feedback. I disagree. The new ones are narrow (and I have narrow foot), heavier, I come out at the heal, and are just not as comfortable. They look "more cool" I do admit. So I wear them around the house, to work, and the mall. My old ones have the black rubber that comes up high around the sides which I think makes them look dorky. But that's okay in the woods?
These are great boots. I wear them 5 out 7 days a week. They are comfortable and great fitting.I plan to take them on my next vacation where I have to do a lot of walking.
