I just bought my 3rd or 4th pair. I love the ruggedness of the shoe. I usually get them resoled at least once before replacing with a new pair. The exterior uppers are bullet proof and never show any wear. The only reason I replace the shoe is that the sock liner eventually rips at the achilles area. I've tried repair but it doesn't feel right. So I love these shoes but If possible I'd like to see the sock liner last as long as everything else. Or else make it replaceable.
I have a narrow size 10 foot and really have trouble finding shoes that fit. LLBean was one of the few places that had narrows in good quality shoes. I am sad to hear that they are phasing these out. LLBean you are loosing a customer and I hate to go. BRING BACK THE NARROW SHOES.
Had absolutely no qualms concerning quality of construction. I just wish they had been a bit wider. I require a wide shoe and ordered the EE but what I really needed would have been more like a EEEE. LL Beans is my go to choice for quality footwear but will see what may evolve with this model.
