I like this vest because it is form fitting. Washes well. I was concerned about the collar standing up but it doesn't bother me especially after you wash it a couple of times
The fabric this vest is made of is really great with a quality look and feel. The mountain red color is also a really nice rich color. I returned it, though, because of fit. Would have definitely kept it otherwise. It's cut for a woman with a full bustline, which I definately do not have. It also has a little flair-out at the hip. I am tall and trim, and the medium was too loosely cut. I was afraid to lose the length and shoulder width with a small. I got a Mountain Sport vest instead, and that is more the fit I was looking for---fitted and non-bulky. If you have the right figure, though, I'd recommend this. It's nice-looking.
This vest has a comfortable combination of warmth and lightness. it is also a roomy XL, allowing for layering. I especially like the extra mesh inside pockets which I regularly use for berets, tissues etc. and still have the outside zippered pockets for other things. Washes well.
I love my new vest. I bought it to wear on a cruise in July to Alaska, but have been wearing it every day since I received it (in January). It fits perfectly and is keeping me toasty warm in 30 degree weather while going shopping. Now my daughter wants one.
