If you like the way this briefcase looks, I certainly do, then this may be the perfect briefcase for you. I have earned many briefcases in my life, and this is my favorite. It is classy looking, very functional, very roomy, perfectly designed, and extremely durable. I use this bag 5 days a week to and from work.
I have the all-leather version. It is a good bag and I have been using one for over 2 years. In general I really like it. A couple of small faults that may or may not concern you. None of the compartments are expandable, however, two are large enough for an average laptop computer. The front pocket latches rattle a lot. The adjustable shoulder strap does not stay at the length you set. It slips easily and constantly. Even if the bag is nearly empty it will slip about 1 inch on both sides with 5 minutes of walking. A 30 minute commute will result in the shoulder strap about 1 foot longer than when you started.
I purchased the leather style for my husband to use as a "carryon" item for airplane travel in addition to our usual roller bag. He is very picky and immediately liked this product. The leather is hi grade and there are so many small pockets and zippered pouches to put all his books, papers, cellphone, along with travel documents and lots of room left over for extras like folding umbrellas. Quite a bargan for the price.
I liked the look of this bag, but found it not to be as durable as I had hoped. First, one of the front latches kept coming undone. Then, after a mere two or three uses, one of the compartment zippers broke under normal wear and tear. I was disappointed and will be returning the item to LL Bean.
