I replaced a Swiss Army backpack style bag with this one and love it. I was a bit apprehensive in the cost, but its been great. I have not had any issues with it as others may have described. Its well constructed, and plenty big to carry my laptop, and all peripherials. Great bag, great styling (there are no other bags with the same clean styling). I have had it for about 3 mos. and it has performed great and the durable leather wears fantastically! You won't regret this purchase!
I purchased this item in black and I have to say this is a great case durable comfortable and the bag is not heavy or stiff, However the front clips that you have read about here are absolutely true. These clip for the front pounch WILL NOT stay closed no matter what you do. I have learned to live with it but if this is something that will drive you crazy, DON"T BUY IT !!!...If it isn't then it isn't such a bad bag and you will be pleased. For the price, you think they would fix this small but bothersome issue.
I have purposely waited to comment on this briefcase until I carried it at least a year. It has been through you know where and back again and looks great still. It has a wonderful weathered look now and has not failed in any way. It is roomy and just the perfect size. Hats off to LL Bean for making such a traditionally styled and well crafted product.
