This is a terrific item, notwithstanding LL Bean's failure to cure the buckle issue. Folks, there is an easy fix for the slipping buckle - - takes all of thirty seconds - - use pliers to depress the buckle's keeper a fraction of an inch, just enough to lower the dome of the keeper. That done, the buckles hold just fine, and it's a splendid bag for around town, airpland carry-on, and travel, though perhaps not for the back and beyond.
The bag is beautiful to look at & my husband loved it the minute he opened his Christmas present. He transferred all his things from work into his new pack, closed it up ... and when he picked it up by the top handle, the lock opened. None of the locks will bear ANY weight, unless the angle is just right ... in other words, the locks don't hold at all. If the front pockets didn't have zippers, everything would've dumped out. This is one great looking bag that is totally unusable. What a shame.
I love this bag! My rucksack arrived today and I instantly fell in love with it! As a college student i tend to carry many books, and with the rucksack it is no problem! While this bag isnt too big it's the perfect size for an adult student. The color is darker than it looks in the picture; however, that is no problem, because the color still looks great!
Yes, it's well made but get something else! The bag looks great but it's big and clumsy, openings are not secure and very awkward to carry. I got mine about 3 years ago and used it once which turned out to be too many times. Now I'm getting one that's smaller, easier to carry and more secure.
