I received the great looking little ruck last week. I have NOT used it as yet. All buckles, straps appeared intact and workable. Again, have not used the item. It is definitely old school. Look/feel is throw back. This is what I wanted; this is what you provided. Could you possibly consider selling an item like this ruck which is slightly larger and would fit under the seat in front of you on an airliner? I have seen old LLBean canvas bags which would fit the bill. Unhappily, you do not offer this item in the Maine Guide series.
I bought this almost a year ago, so I should be able to tell you about its pros and cons. Pros: Great for an overnight or weekend get away. Plenty of room for a change of clothes, toiletries, etc. Don't let the color bother you when you first receive the bag. It is a little lighter than pictured here (not much) but it ages well and you get a darker, rustic leather look. The antique looking clasps are sturdy and have held up well. Cons: This bag is not made to carry laptops as the bottom is not padded (but could handle the new netbooks that are out). It is also not meant to carry more than a book or two (text books) and a few notebooks, as the straps are not padded. The bag is wearing well with no threads showing (and I use it a lot). All in all, this is a great little backpack and I highly recommend it. Bean has some of the best stuff out there.
I bought this as a present for my future son in law. He likes it very much. It looked exactly what I expected. The picture presents the rucksack really well. The qulity is execptional, it is very durable, has a lot of space to put the stuff in. Keep up the good work. The delivery was on time as you promissed.
This backpack is wonderful. It is very well constructed, heavy duty and the perfect size. I was concerned that it would be too small and was glad it is the size of a reg. backpack. I love the color, the buckles, and that there is zippers underneath the two front flaps. Thank you for a great product.
