Nylon fabric is lightweight, yet durable, and not hot in warm weather. Pants pack compactly with minimal wrinkling.I like the security of the zippered back pocket. The ability to adjust the hem closure with a cinch is unique and useful.The side zippers at the bottom of the legs facilitate getting into/out of the pants. Conversion to shorts make these pants truly veratile for a full range of conditions. These are my second pair of Convertable pants. I bought my 1 st pair from LLBean about 14 years ago. They wore like iron.and are still functional though showing their age as are all of us.
