This is the second pair of the Timberledge zip-off pants that I've purchased from LLBean. It is an excellent product. Just the right weight for Western NC in the fall and winter. There are plenty of pockets in good sizes and in easy to reach locations. A good belt is included. The zip up boot bottoms are one of the features I like best. The pants are roomy and very comfortable for long hikes. Using a base layer I found that they are very warm even on the coldest days here in WNC. My first pair I purchased at the Freeport store in 2003 and still can't wear them out.
Two Zips are better than one. Having the ankle zippers to facilitate taking off the pant legs is excellent. It is a feature not often found on hiking pants. I also like the zip pocket to protect the things you absolutely cannot loose on the trail. Hey that's three zips! And I bought the blue color just because it is a nice change from the kakhi that my husband always wears. These pants are going on the AT with him in October.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, timberledgy
These pants have a wonderful feel to them; they fit well, seem durable. My only suggestion would be more pockets on the front. Otherwise, they're as good as convertible pants can be.
