I'm a female and have this is the chalk blue, small. I'm 5'1" and it fits fine. It doesn't make me look too femine but it does keep me warm in all but the worst storm weather. With a light sweater you're toasty warm. When you wash it for the 1st time it will shrink only slightly but enough for us females. This is much better than the ladies sweatshirt because it has a full size hood with ties and security pockets.
I purchased this jacket for my son who will be moving to Colorado soon. He says it is very comfortable and he will be able to get a lot of use out of it when he's there.
