A few years ago I purchased this sweatshirt without the hood style. It still looks like new after heavy use and the quality is excellent. I like it so much I decided to buy the hooded style....which I like even more. This is my go to coat for everyday general use, warm, soft, rugged...wonderful.
I love this sweatshirt. The only reason for my review, though, is to address a complaint I found in other reviews. Some reviews did not approve of the polyester-lined sleeves, suggesting the material is "cold." In fact, this lining reflects LL Bean's superb design. It allows the wearer to quickly pull on the sweatshirt over another shirt without having the inner sleeves get caught up in the outer sleeves. On shirts and jackets without such a lining, I have to awkwardly grab and hold my shirtsleeves while I pull on the outer. This avoids that step and gets me on my way faster. Oh, and this sweatshirt is crazy comfortable!
I bought one for my husband 3 years ago. He liked it so much I bought 2 more for him but kept one for myself. Our daughter liked mine so well that she kept wearing it to do chores, although she swam in it. So, this year I bought another one for hubby, one each for daughter and daughter's boyfriend, and one for our other daughter. Unfortunately, the boyfriend needs a bigger size and they're all sold out. Good news is, I can keep it for myself.
Daughters have thanked me multiple times since Christmas saying their sweatshirts have made all the difference in keeping them warm doing chores. The sleeves allow them to layer over fleece without 'sticking'.
My only complaint is that you're currently out of stock, and there's still a lot of winter left here in Minnesota!
