ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, very well designed, go to jacket
Everything from Bean is remarkable, but this jacket is among my very best purchases. It just does everything you want it to and more. That it's tough and durable goes without saying. It went through the washer without a problem. What sets it apart are the little touches you don't expect in a simple sweatshirt. First the sleeves are lined so that when you hurriedly throw it on you don't have to struggle with sweater or shirt sleeves that have been pulled up. If I put it on to take a walk to get the mail and it's raining, I flip the hood up, make a quick tuck on the cords and I'm perfectly protected without feeling like Nanook of the North. It's also in the nature of active wear like this that you might be putting in on and taking it off and throwing it aside as you get overheated. With other garments, if you put your keys or anything valuable in the pocket, there's a chance it will fall out. But on the Katahdin, each pocket has another generous pocket within that closes with a velcro tab! Who thinks of that except Bean! Get one . . . you'll keep it forever.
I own 1 and am buying another for sis... pockets are great size, hood is great size.. i call it my second skin it's sooo comfy and I especially love the sleeves (nylon, not fleece) better than any jacket/coat I own...what a GREAT idea!..LLBean got this one right..you don't have to worry about your shirt sleeve riding up everytime you put coat on. FANTASTIC extra on this already great jacket...I am very rough on clothing...work in yard year round & this is my #1 "go to" on my way out the door.
I own four of these, grey, coffee bean, bayleaf and oakhurst. My wife keeps "borrowing" them. They are very cozy, comfy and tough. The pockets rock. If you could only own one sweatshirt... this is it. As I said, truly the best sweatshirt in the world. Trust me... get one and you will be back for more.
