I picked this sweatshirt up in the Pittsburgh Retail Store; was pleasantly surprised at the weight of the product -- it is not skimpy...but substantial. Most zippered hoodies wad up in your hand using a thinly-gauged fabric with so called "fleece" in the lining, only to watch it launder out or begin to pill up after a few washings. Not this one.
The size large is more than enough to layer under for myself being 5'8" and broad shouldered. The hood was not deep enough for a ball cap, however. The only drawback, for me, was not being made available in Loden (Green). Bean needs a few more color offerings here. A screened logo version or embroidered version would be a nice value add-on. I live in sweatshirts; this is without question the best value I have found for $49.00. I endorse it highly.
I bought this for cooler fall weather, and actually it's even warmer than it appeared to be from the picture, so I should be able to get a lot of use out of it.
LLBean sizes run large--I got a medium and that was still pretty roomy.
First, my order arrived promptly as advertised within 7-10 days and was in very good condition. We had an excellent chance almost immediately to test it. The heat here this simmer is extraordinary, 109 degrees last couple days. We ran away to the Oregon coast where the temperature is MUCH cooler, in the 60-70's. I used the hoodie to sleep in as well as during the day and it was perfect for the conditions. We came back home a few days ago and it looked in almost the same condition as when it arrived here. Very impressive!!! Wish we could go back to the cooler climate, but unfortunately we are caught in the mid of previous commitments and can't. You can be sure that we'll take the hoodie with us when we do go! THANKS A THOUSAND TIMES
