Hands down favorite clothing purchase in the last 6 months. We turned the thermostat down this winter and I joked we spent all the savings on new sweaters. Warm, cozy sweatshirt, I've been living in this one in the house and out. Slightly funny additional pocket inside the front pockets, looks like a extra lining with a bit of velcro to keep it closed. Small gripe that all the truly functional, comfortable, and made-to-last clothing is made for men, this will work for women too as long as you're not extra hippy.
My boyfriend is such a hard worker doing construction in all kinds of weather conditions and really puts his work wear through some tough wear and tear. But he wouldn't let me buy him this jacket because he says I buy him too much.
So, I decided to buy myself this jacket when I saw it was on sale. I need it to do my yard work and for being outside to take care of my hens and cleaning the chicken coop in bad weather, and maintaining the dog kennel area. I have 3 large-breed dogs, plus 'babysit' large-breed dogs on the side.
Well, this jacket came in the mail, and I left it out on the table so that my boyfriend couldn't miss it. I showed him the workmanship, the berber fleece lining, the pockets with the inner velcro pocket area. I could tell he was interested and seeing that it was a wise purchase. All he said was, "I hate the color."
Well, I used this jacket; and after using it, is exactly as it was described: rugged, practical, triple-stitched, warm but designed for free movement. It's exactly what I needed.
So, after texting him a photo of the same jacket in a different color, he said, "Buy it!" I feel better knowing he is comfortable and protected from the weather in this jacket.
Once he works a few weeks in it, I will be able to tell you exactly how rugged it is and if the claim that it stands up to years of use is true. If that claim turns out to be true, you can rest assured, I will buy more of these Katahdin Iron Works items and give this another sparkling review.
I ordered this for my boyfriend for Christmas and it looks absolutely wonderful. Love the color and the size (he's really tall and thin, but Medium Long fits just great).
This is the most wonderful hooded sweatshirt I have ever seen. I bought it for my husband. It was supposed to be available on January 4 (2014) but actually arrived Christmas Eve. It is SO nice. The lining is thick and soft, the sweatshirt is very heavy and warm, and very attractive. He loves it. He is very skinny (about 5'7" 125 pounds,) and I got him the medium. It is perfect. Roomy but not baggy. He says he would not have wanted the small size.
