The Katahdin Iron Works sweatshirt is quite simply better than any other sweat shirt I have ever worn. What makes it so is the faux shearling full lining - sans the arms - in the body and the hood. By itself on cool and/or windy days, or layered with a warm down jacket when the temperature is hovering right around freezing, I feel quite comfortable. And when I go inside, since it has a full front zipper, I don't have to take it off unless I intend to. But perhaps its most convenient feature, other than the hood, is that it is wash and dry. And when I am asked where I got such a neat peace of apparel, I just point to the logo and say "L. L. Bean, of course."
I purchased two zippered hoodies for me and another family member and we love them. They are the perfect weight for this time of year in NJ. If necessary they are roomy enough to layer and not feel so confined.
