I found the sizing to be accurate (I ordered a medium). The zipper worked well, and the quality of the stitching at the seams was excellent. The security pockets are a plus.
I thought the color selection could be improved, and the fleece lining is a bit thin, although comfortable.
This is the 4th Katahdin sweatshirt I've purchased this year. It began as gifts for my husband & son-in-law. They liked them so much I purchased 2 more: for my son and 2nd son-in-law. It's really warm enough to almost be a jacket; but soft enough to feel as comfortable as a sweatshirt. They're not too bulky for layering. And I'm glad to know my family's kept warm.
I bought this for work outside. It was on par, or cheaper than most insulated hooded sweatshirts and I had a gift certificate, so...
Anyhow, it has flaws. First off the tag is sewn flat into the garment, and runs high on the neck, real high. Higher than any shirts I own, so it is constantly rubbing against the back of my neck, very annoying. I suppose its easily solved, but is kind of indicative of the other problem, in that both lack common sense. The sleeves are not lined with fleece/berber, or whatever they call it. Its more of a lightweight nylon I suppose, and its constantly cold. If there is a penetrating breeze, its as cold as ice against the skin. When you get a little sweaty, it gets clammy. It was a terrible idea for a liner, and just the simple sweatshirt material would have sufficed. So all you can do to solve that is where a long sleeve shirt underneath. I would have paid another $5-10 to have it fully lined with fleece.
