This is the warmest sweatshirt I've ever worn. It's also extremely comfortable and fits perfectly. I'm from L.A. and not used to cold weather. I wore this sweatshirt this morning while walking in 38 degrees (over base and mid layers) and was toasty. I'm buying a second one now.
I have to make a conscious effort to not grab this jacket when I'm cold. Because I'm cold a lot! I opted for this jacket because of the reviews and photos. Ladies jackets are frequently.. well... throwaways or not warm enough or don't last. And because kids' jackets can be like ladies' jackets....you get the idea. I wanted something more substantial, and this jacket is it. I'm 5'4" and 120lbs, and would've gotten an extra-small if it had been offered. Small is a bit enveloping, but I'm not drowning in it. A friend at work has both the fleecy hoodies in both kids and ladies, and the "stuffed animal" fleece may be warm, but I prefer the nubby cotton in mine. Note the nylon sleeves as other reviewers point out: chilly if you have on short sleeves. Great if you have on long sleeves....
I tried on the XL reg and as other reviewers noted, it was short. I tried on the XL tall and it was a perfect fit. (I am 5' 7" and have no idea what tall people wind up getting.)
