The fit and feel of the Hooded Katahdin Iron Works Heavyweight Sweatshirt were great out of the box (or green bag in this case). I was pleasantly surprised by the sleeve lining - that slick material that doesn't get hung up on a long sleeved shirt. The fleece lining is very plush and warm. I'm 6'2'' and 225 lbs and found the XL to be a good fit, though the tall may have been a little better for overall length. I like the velcro closures in the pockets - good to keep things secure. The overall construction seems very durable, and the hickory color is really nice. I'm looking forward to putting it to the test as late fall / winter arrives in N.E. Ohio - I've found lake effect weather to be the ultimate test for any outerwear. It's been my proving ground for lots of L.L. Bean purchases, and I'm optimistic with this "hoodie" worn under an L.L. Bean waxed canvas coat I bought a few years back. L.L.Bean ROCKS!!!
It is perfect for our Missouri falls and winter. I love that the hood and body are fleece lined. I wore it the other day for a walk. We live beside a large lake and the wind can be quite cold and heavy duty. It will be perfect for outdoor work. Arrived promptly and it is a great color blue.
