Just buy it! I have been a clothing buyer fo 30 years. Great item! With or without shirt. The nylon sleeve insert is great helpes putting it in with flannel or sweater.

I just ordered my third one. Living at 8,400 ft. in the Andes of Cuenca, Ecuador - - This is my go to 'jacket' in the mornings or evenings to take the chill off. My problem is - wearing it daily - I wear one out in a year. But I'm not complaining!
I bought this for my 13-year-old son when the largest child size was snug. Sadly, because the men's sizes are much more expensive than the kids' sizes. He is 5' 8" and about 145 lbs., well, this week he is, and the men's medium fits him nicely. So far this has been his go-to fall 'coat' and he will wear it as long as he can get away with it! The men's version if not as crazy-soft as the kids' version, but it's still thick and warm and cozy. Once he grows out of it, I may inherit it.
I purchased this sweatshirt for my son last Christmas. It was purchased to replace a similar "North Face" sweatshirt. To be honest, he was a bit disappointed with the fit; he thought it more boxy than the North Face sweatshirt. However, he has worn it this past year. Just this morning he called me to say he has a whole new respect for this sweat shirt. He is working outdoors in a cold area and he was excited to let me know that this sweatshirt is considerably warmer in these conditions than was the North Face sweatshirt! With that in mind I will be ordering another one this Christmas and I encouraged him to try LL Bean's thermal ware as well. Thank you LL Bean for your continuing quality.
