We ordered this hooded sweatshirt for our style-conscious twenty-something stockbroker son. Fits great, looks great and like it will last forever. He even says he's actually going to wear it--definitely a step in the right direction. And now he's got something appropriate to wear when he's got to come over and shovel us out after a winter storm. Who could ask for anything more?
This sweatshirt replaces a worn Carhartt garment. The Katahdin sweathshirt is superior in several ways: The fuzzy lining is warm and just feels good, especially inside the hood. The sleeves are lined with slick material that slips easily over other clothing. However, the sleeves are uninsulated and noticeably cool compared to the body. Tunnel pockets on this type of jacket are great for hand-warming but are not secure for holding items. The LL Bean sweatshirt has two additional pockets secured with Velcro tabs, a very good feature (unless I launder my securely concealed phone).
