Work and Casual Jacket,
March 8, 2010
By
mrtyfrom Milford, MI
"I was impressed that the jacket has a metal zipper instead of plastic which most jackets now have. In the past I have thrown away almost new jackets with broken plastic zippers. Also this jacket appears easy to clean by home laundering it."

Great Jacket,
February 5, 2010
By
brawleyshopperfrom brawley, ca
"I like the jacket, it looks good and is well made. My one suggestion would be to increase the size of the inside pocket. It was obviously made to hold a normal sized flip cell phone however many people today use smart phones (Blackberrys) and the pocket isn't big enough for it."

January 6, 2010
By
kphemlockfrom Glencoe,MO
"I ordered this jacket for my husband to work in as he has been in and out of the cold all day - He loves it. He says it is as warm as his down jacket with out the weight! Now he wears it everywhere! Another winner from L.L. Bean! Thank you."

Great Gift,
December 30, 2009
By
Tracer1from Georgia
"The jacket came the day it was suppose to. I was wanting a warm jacket that fit. I have lost 100 pounds since February of 2009 on purpose by the way, and I needed a new jacket that fit me and also keeps me warm. (no excess fat to help warm my body) I got the jacket for christmas and fell in love with it. It fits perfect."

tough coat,
December 6, 2009
By
lewiscountykidfrom Chehalis, Wa.
"When you work outside in the winters of the northwest you need clothing you can depend on, and this coat delivers! Overall the coat is a bit heavy so keep in mind if you want it as a casual jacket. It is very warm even when wet and the wool lining blocks chilly winds. The canvas is as tough as it should be and resists snags, rips, mud, and other things that ended the life of my other jackets. A quality "TOOL" for the worksite."

Warm Investment,
November 29, 2009
By
GarfieldShopperfrom Bridgeport,CT
"You can almost dress this jacket up. I wear this more than my other jackets. It's a nice heavy weight jacket with the added wool to keep you warm. The sleaves are a nice length, it has a full metal zipper and the exterior pockets are roomy. The only thing I would change is the little interior chest pocket. It really should be a little larger so you can get stuff in it."

Sharp!,
October 6, 2009
By
Hiker88from Athol, MA
"This jacket looks sharp.
To be honest, I don't wear this jacket for work, I wear it for the looks. It provides warmth too on these chilly fall nights. I am very pleased with my purchase!
There are two neat little pockets on the inside of the jacket, both pockets can be sealed. One is a zipper and the other is velcro. The pocket on the outside of the jacket comes in handy also for carrying little things you don't want to forget. Sometimes I use it for my phone or wallet.
This is a heavy-duty jacket that screams top notch quality."

Tough Skin,
February 18, 2009
By
HRS63from Buffalo, NY
"This is a rugged jacket and one that seems to predict longevity. Men in northern climates will benefit from its tough skin. It has a lot of heft which detracts from its very casual uses. For workingmen and the women who love them, you will be pleased with this jacket."

Nice and Warm Katahdin Jacket,
January 8, 2009
By
shoppingcherfrom Spokane, WA
"Bought this jacket for my husband for Christmas. He has mentioned many times since how much he likes it (this coming from a man who rarely comments on clothing). I must say it looks great on him. He is a tall and tends to wear his shirts out. This falls just right to accomodate his style. He likes it best for the warmth it provides in this cold weather and wears it everytime he goes out. A great purchase overall."

Does the Job,
December 14, 2008

"I was in need of a rugged jacket that would be warm, yet not too hot while working. The wool liner does the trick. It breathes better than synthetic material and insulates well too."

Another Great Jacket,
November 16, 2008
By
MrNibfrom IL
"Outstanding jacket. It has replaced the Field Jacket as my favorite casual jacket (which says a lot). Thick durable canvas. Very warm and windproof with lots of pockets for cell phones and other small items. Hand warmer pockets would be helpful. I look forward to wearing it this winter with my wind challenger 300 fleece. Another great product from LL Bean."

Jacket saved my life,
September 10, 2008
By
Anonymousfrom Glasgow, Scotland
"I'm an American in Scotland and had LLBean ship me the jacket to the UK as a birthday gift. It serves perfectly in all the harsh weather Scotland throws at me.
In March I was in a serious car crash while wearing this jacket. The heavy canvas protected me from metal and glass and the wool insulation prevented serious injury acting as padding. In the 2 hours trapped in the car in the rain and cold of the winter night the jacket also prevented hypothermia and kept me warm and dry.
Afterwards the jacket had no damage and was only dirty... true story, this jacket saved my life."
