great shoe!!! it was actually pretty true to fit (i usually wear a 10, and i got these in a 10, they fit - the 9.5 was too tight). they are rugged with GREAT traction - as much as i love the covered toe, it does tend to trap pebbles, sand, dirt, etc. that was a bit of a pain, but they are SO comfortable, it hasn't stopped them from being my favorite shoe.
I wore these sneaker/sandals the day after the shipment arrived in order to visit a sick relative in a hospital in Manhattan. I did a lot of walking and they were comforable the entire day. I chose them to wear knowing the weather was iffy and they were also waterproof.
I bought them a half size up as recommended and this turned out fine. They were flexible and supportive. I wore them with socks that day and I have since worn them without socks, too.
I bought them in blue figuring they would be a neutral enough color and look especially good with jeans.
It can be very difficult for me to find shoes that are comfortable. I have high insteps and arches, somewhat wide feet, poor padding in the balls of my feet and occasional bouts of Plantar fasciitis, ouch!
I bought these sandals for a recent cruise and they are pretty comfortable. No blisters or rubbing from these!
I took the advice of the reviewers on another shoe site and bought a full size larger and they were way too big so I ordered 2 pairs; 1/2 size larger as well as my normal size 7. The 7's fit the best so this may be an individual thing.
Personally I think it is unusual for any product to get a perfect score, so I scored these at 4 stars for me. I wish they had just a little more arch support and they are a little hot.
Granted it was really hot weather on our cruise therefore any shoe other than a flip flop would have been hot!
