This coat is thick, warm, and cozy. It is very well- tailored. I only wish it were longer in length. I ordered a small petite as I am 5 ft. 1 inch. It seems shorter on me than in the picture. Next time I would order a regular just for more length.
I would like to applaud LLBean for offering this beautiful fleece coat that is a longer length. It covers leggings and suites us taller gals. That said, I did return this coat, when I discovered that the seam running across the midback and down the inside arm was uncomfortable. Every time I moved my arm I could feel the seam pulling across my back. It would have been very difficult to wear while driving, when one stretches out both arms at the wheel. I was disappointed because the coat was very beautiful, and I am hoping that the designers will fix the problem next season.
I was looking for what I call a "throw and go" jacket for fall/winter that would cover my hips and be casual, but not overly sporty. I am in agreement with some of the other reviewers - this coat is way too bulky and ill fitting. For the price and given the photo, I was expecting a more tailored, refined look. For reference, I got a large which usually works for me in a jacket I want to layer under, and it felt like I was wearing a fleece box with lots of extra fabric. I could tell by the design that going down a size was not going to solve the overall issues. Too bad because the fabric, lining, and length were just what I was looking for.
I took a walk at zero degrees Celsius, in a light wind, and was quite chilly. The fleece did not live up to the catalog description. Also, the buttons did not appear to be securely sewn - they should have had a small button reinforcement behind to make sure they did not rip out. Altogether a real disappointment, and overpriced.
