I bought this coat in the sable color in a petite medium while it was on sale in November. It fit perfectly and is so comfortable. I was able to layer a sweater shirt underneath. I stayed warm and was able to move freely. It is even comfortable to wear while I drive. I washed the coat and it washes up nicely. I dried it a little and hung it up to finish drying. It did not seem to shrink any. I liked the coat so much that I ordered the color loden. The petite medium is tight in the arms and uncomfortable with the sweater top. I am exchanging it for a petite large. As always LL Bean is great with the exchanges.
This is the right weight layer I was looking for. Unlike some other reviewer I did not have a problem getting it over a midweight layer. It also looks good. My only complaint is that unlike as seen on the model and in the picture I cannot turn the collar down -- it stays up. If there is a technique please let me know.

I wasn't sure if I would like it when I ordered it. Sometimes you just can't tell. But I love it, love it, love it! Size small fits me perfectly. I'm 5'4 and 115lbs. The color loden is just right. Its warm, comfortable and lightweight, which is perfect for traveling. I'm thinking of ordering another in a different color. However,I haven't washed it yet. Hope it looks as good after. Also, to me it looks very stylish.
I ordered this for cold fall days in the Midwest. I wanted something that would be nice enough to wear with dressier slacks. This is perfect. It looks great with nice slacks or jeans either one. It was plenty warm enough for late fall.
