I've been looking for a jacket like this for awhile so I was excited to see the Blazer - and on Sale! I read the reviews and opted to order down a size (usually a 42S so I ordered a 40S). After waiting well over a week for it to arrive, I was already a bit frustrated - apparently having it sent to my work address adds days onto the processing process.
Loved the Fabric (I got the RootBeer plaid) and it seems like it would be an awesomely warm jacket, but the size is all off. The shoulders were a tad big but liveable if the cut wasn't so boxy. The sleeves almost went to my fingertips. The length also seemed shorter then my other jackets/blazers. I thought about exchanging it for a 38S but at this point I don't trust it would fit so am returning the jacket and will keep looking.
For reference: I'm 5'9, about 180, athletic build/broad shoulders; ~42" chest; shirt sleeves 32"/33"
Normally, I wear a 42R or 44R depending on the manufacturer. After reading the reviews indicating these coats ran large, I ordered one in 40 S, It fits fine in the shoulders and sleeves, but cannot button the collar button (17.5 inch neck). The coat seems just a tad too short, but not bad. It seems very well made and should be quite warm in winter. This size would not work with a bulky sweater. I am 5'9 and bout 180 lbs.
After reading the reviews, I purchased this item a size smaller than usual (I am a 40S, so I ordered a 38S). It looked like I was wearing a poncho when I tried it on. While the length of the arms and the jacket were fine, the cut is terribly unflattering for a thin, healthy, average sized person. I plan to take it to the tailor to see about getting it taken in, but I am afraid that its so huge around the mid-section that they will not even be able to take it in. Unless you have "something to hide" in the middle, I would avoid this jacket. Beware!
Im sitting here thinking about buying another of these, in a different color of course because I too found a great fit in this jacket. But I have a size larger in a short because it allows a thicker shirt and the short fits my arms better. My 5'9'' 180 frame takes a 42 short with a little extra room for a sweater.
