The lined jacket was like a throwback to a gentlemen's jacket minus the leather patches. When the weather is a little warmer it will get a lot of use. Even on a cold day with a sweater and a scarf it is good to go.
I use it as a all weather, warm, comfortable, yet professional looking Sports Coat. (I wouldn't wear it skiing though.) I liked it so much in brown, I ordered a gray one, and am considering the third color choice. Someone told me they saw it at an Bean outlet store for much less, but I would assume it to be irregular, I suspect. At any rate I wear both colors a few times a week!
I bought this jacket for my husband for casual dinners out, but the jacket was very baggy and shapeless. The workmanship was not good. This is the kind of jacket that an old Scottish or Irish farmer might wear (I have been to both places). From the pictures on line the tweed jacket looks more sophisticated than it acutally is.
Previously purchased similar LL Bean jacket with Thinsulate insulation for my wife. It was not a "relaxed fit", but looks like a well tailored garment, i.e., it still looks sporty & elegant!
I tried on the present LL Bean jacket upon receipt, which in my opinion is so relaxed to look baggy.
Luckily I purchased from LL Bean, which permitted me to return it the next day.
