At 5'7" tall and 145 lbs I purchased a size 38 short. While the other (2 corduroy) blazers I purchased at LLBean fit well at this size, the insulated blazer looks like a normal size blazer had the bottom 3 inches cut off, then sewn back together haphazardly making the pockets look disproportionately odd. It fit poorly. I returned it.
I have had the brown and grey coats for years and finally had to replace them. The brown was replaced last year and although the replacement was not as heavy or constructed as well as the original it has worked by wearing a sweater under it in areas such as Siberia, Belarus, and China over the past year.
Just received the replacement grey blazer and the quality was not as good as the brown and had a bad stiching under the right sleeve that caused a permanent crease running across the back of the blazer. I returned it today and will not order another.
My husband likes his blazer jacket. It can be dressed up or down. It has lots of roomy pockets, which he loves. However, it is missing a detail that would give it a more finished look: There is no top stitching around the collar and the front. Hence, four stars instead of five.
Not quite what expected and was returned. The fabric is nice but the construction is quite untailored and bulky looking. The collar sits in a peculiar way that keeps the coat from looking properly finished. While it does not look like a sport coat, it does not look very much like an outdoor coat either. A good idea but needs to be more finely tailored to succeed.
