I received this as a gift. I wear a 42 regular so that's what my mom ordered. It fits like a 44 or 46, plus the sleeves are about two inches too long. Now I have to pack it up and ship it back for a refund or exchange. Too bad, it looks like a very nice jacket.
I took the advice of those reviewers who warned this blazer runs large in the chest and the sleeves. I’m a bit over six feet and broad at the shoulder and narrow at the hip and normally wear a 48 Long or Tall. Heeding the advice, I purchased a size down and went with the 46 in the regular. Well, just packed it up and dropped it at the UPS store. I found the blazer to be tight in the upper arms, across the back and short over all. The sleeves on the other hand were fairly true to size. I just ordered the 48 Tall. Give me the extra room for comfort and layering anytime. If you are expecting a heavy gauge herringbone like a Harris Tweed for example, you will be disappointed. This is a much softer, lighter gauge wool. When ordering, I suggest going with the size of your favorite, most comfortable suit coat or blazer. You’ll be happy you did.
Immediately opened it after UPS delivered it today. My wife said it looks great and fits well. I am 6', 170 lbs, athletic build (low body fat). Normally, I wear a 41 long. I ordered this as a 40 regular after reading comments about the arms being long and the body being too large. It fits me perfectly in the body while wearing both an undershirt and LL Bean insulated Hurricane shirt. The arms are about 1/4 inch too long, not enough to have it altered. Wrinkling was minimal in the body; there is a bit in the upper arm of each sleeve near the shoulder, but this isn't a custom jacket. Great value for $80 with free shipping/no tax. Pockets are all sewn shut, but are real. I gave this 5 stars for being worth way more than $80.
I own two of these because they make a great dressy alternative to a casual jacket or windbreaker. Great for days when you're going to be outside but don't want to fool with a bulkier coat. Paired with a sweater, these are comfortable down into the thirties. They're not as fitted as a regular sportcoat, so don't expect that snug, crisp look. However, the upside is that they're roomier than a regular blazer and with the lining much warmer. I love mine!
