As an avid walker i find this down jacket to be my favorite from my vast llbean collection for walking on very cold northeast days.It is non-bulky and extremely lite weight ; yet the warmest jacket i own.
This is a great jacket. It's toasty warm and very comfortable. We've had a very cold winter and this has kept me warm on my daily hour long walks with the dog. I'm a size 8 and 5'10". I ordered the large and it's a good fit. The arms are long enough and it fits all around. I recommend this coat!
I purchased this coat for my step-daughter who moved back to Ohio from California. The coat arrived quickly which was great because the snow was falling sooner than expected. The size was a perfect fit and it does an excellent job of keeping her warm and snug no matter how bitter cold it gets outside.
I just purchased on sale my Fuschia Goose Down Jacket, and absolutely love it! I was in the process of searching for a new replacement goose down jacket especially for the Boston area bitter cold, and my old down jacket (another brand), had excessive wear showing (dirt), since it was pale pink, and the metal zipper had started coming undone, as well as the puffiness which made me look chunkier since I'm 5'2'' and about 135 lbs. At first I ordered the Goose Down jacket in MEDIUM based upon my chest size: 38, but when I received the jacket, there was too much excess jacket fabric around my smaller waist, which wasn't as form-fitting as I would like it to be, therefore I had to send it back, and ordered a replacement in a SMALL, which is definitely much better!
The quality of the zipper is much better than my old jacket; I got a compliment the first time I wore it, for the bright, cheery Fuschia color, which stands out from all the black-colored, and dark, drab-colored winter coats out and about; the fit is fabulous! --- form-fitting to my liking, and NOT bulky; very comfortable, and "fits like a glove"; will hide dirt stains better, and just overall reassurance that it's from L.L. Bean for quality and satisfaction --- THANKS L.L. Bean for making this jacket AND having it on SALE!
