My husband bought me a medium otter colored one for Christmas but after looking at the other colors online and the reviews about the sizing I decided to exchange it for a small lily pond colored one. I'm glad I did because although I normally wear a medium in everything the small fits perfectly (I am 5'7 and weigh about 150 lbs). I didn't find the sleeves to be short at all either. My only suggestion is that it could be a tad shorter in overall length. Other than that I love the color and the jacket.
I have been enjoying my Goosedown Jacket for several weeks now. It is so light to wear, but keeps me so warm. I love the way the sleeves have inside cuffs to keep the air from entering up into the sleeves and the outside of the cuffs have velcro to fasten tightly around your wrists so no air gets up into your arms. The same is also around your waist were you can pull the draw strings tight on each side and no air will enter up into your torso area. I really like the 2 outside zippered pockets because this way I can put my needed things in them and don't have to worry about loosing anything. The inside zippered pocket is also nice to keep things in, such as, change and small documents like your drivers licence. I only wish there were another pocket inside to hold bigger things. I found the full lenght coat zipper to be very benifical, when I was walking my dogs one night, and the wind picked up and my neck got cold. I pulled the zipper all the way up around my face and there was no more wind blowing in on my neck or lower jaw. The quality of workmanship in the stitching is superior to other brands of jackets I have purchased in the past. I liked the jacket so much I have 2 of them now. The price is more than fair for this kind of jacket because of the guality and style. I plan on having those 2 jackets for along time to come.
I ordered my "Goose Down Jacket" in a Misses Regular (M) in Otter Brown on Monday, 1-05-09 and got it on Friday, 1-09-09. It was very fast shipping. I love the color, the way it fits me and is really light. I recently moved to the Sierra Nevadas and I only had a cotton shirt under my jacket. It was warm and cozy. I love the jacket because it covers my rear end, a drawstring on the bottom of the jacket, and a lining which has a reinforced material in the wrist area plus a velcro feature which keeps out cold air. I really believe that this will keep me warm when it dips down into the teens. I plan to order another jacket next Winter in a smaller size because I plan to lose weight. LL Bean is a great company! I bought a Queen flannel sheet set which has lasted me for 10 years. "Kudos to You, LL Bean"!
