I ordered this jacket to replace an older style Bean goose down jacket size S that was always a bit big around for me, but I loved. This time I ordered the XS, and it runs true to the size chart- fits great! I love that this updated style has a trimmer fit. It has a more fashionable, less utilitarian look. I also appreciate the new lining fabric on the collar, as this was always the hardest part of my old coat to get clean. I think this will wash better, and it is nice and soft on your neck. The sleeve length is great, and the elasic cuffs comfortably loose, with nice velcro tabs if you need to make them tighter. I ordered the Periwinkle blue, which looks great with jeans. Note: the color is much lighter than the catalog or website picture. If you look at the website model wearing the Lily green color, you will notice how much lighter it looks on her vs the picture of the jacket alone. Let that be your guide for the Periwinkle as well. The jacket is plenty warm in 20 degree temps with windswept snow. I have not worn it in colder weather yet. It is so light- you won't know you are wearing it. I think it is a great value for the price, and highly recommend it.
Stylish jacket, Warm and affordable. I got it a few weeks ago, and Im pretty content with the purchase. Polyester lining keeps me warm. Adjustable drawstring at the waist is convienent. I like the velcro wrist straps alot. And the only minor negative thing is, the feathers come out a bit, not much but thats the inevitable.
I haven't been able to stop wearing this coat! It turned terribly cold here for December and this coat was instantly up to the task of keeping me warm. The sizing is right on - I wear a small and ordered a small - it fits perfectly. Thanks LLBean!
