I got this jacket in two days. LLbean is the best for quick delivery. I got it in size 2x and thought it would be big and bulky. Wrong! Very lightweight and comfortable. Couldn't be happier with my first down jacket.
I bought two of these jackets -one for me, one for my daughter. Although we rarely, if ever, agree on clothing, we both agree that this is a great down jacket. We've both worn ours outside in frigid, windy, sleety temperatures below 20 degrees. We both were quite warm and comfortable against the harsh weather. There is no hood, so pack/wear a hat and gloves...there are roomy, zippered pockets to hold such items. This jacket is very light weight, so if you take it off, it's easy to carry it around if you don't want to wear it indoors -like if you're shopping, or waiting in a doctor's office, etc. The jacket repelled very wet snow and ice. The down inside did not seem to be affected by the wetness of the outer fabric. Some have commented on a "boxy" shape. That might be true to some extent, but when it comes to winter garments, I'm less interested in the fashion aspect and more concerned with the performance of the clothing against the elements. In my opinion, this jacket is a winner.
Based on other reviews, I ordered a size up from what I normally wear in down jackets of this style. When it arrived, I tried it on wearing only a tee shirt, and I couldn't begin to get the jacket zipped. The sleeves were very, very tight, and moving my arms wasn't easy. Thus, not a good coat for driving. The quality was good. Sadly, I'll have to return this. I had to check "yes" or "no" on recommendations, so I checked "no." However, I would recommend it with caveats.
Love the color (periwinkle), fits true, sleeves fine for me. I'd like to see an inside chest pocket. While there's a lower inside pocket, another might be more secure. Nice and light, seems to be water repellent, maybe another 2 inches on length and would be perfect!!!
