Bought this jacket for my teenage daughter. Loved the color, looks great, and is very warm! But, after two washings the down has shifted around and clumped up in areas. Very disappointing and not the quality I've seen in the past with LL Bean products.
I love LL Bean...Always good quality but this coat doesn't fit "right." I ordered the largest size available,3x, which is actually a size larger than my real size. I thought it would give me extra room for layers but I was wrong. The torso was plenty big enough, in fact, really too big but the sleeves were another story. Not only were the sleeves short but it also pulled thru the shoulders. Also, the way the lining was attached up the sleeve not at the cuff, made the coat hard to remove...the sleeve wanted to turn inside out! I will be returning this coat and purchasing a mens coat...they fit better.
Light weight, nice and warm, flattering fit. I am 5'4" and 125 lbs. The size small fit perfectly. I don't like a lot of bulky sweaters under my jackets, so this was a nice fit for me. I ordered the periwinkle blue whick is much lighter in color that I thought it would be. However, the shade is flattering, and I love the jacket.
I should have gleaned from the reviews that stated 'this jacket fit to size' on busty women, that it would not be suitable for women of a more slender build. The medium fit relatively true to size, but had extra material at the top of coat, both in the chest AND the top of the back, which produced an odd triangle look. Just a heads up for those with a slender build to consider if you want a hulky look.
