My wife thought she really didn't need a new winter outer jacket but this one is so good looking, so comfortable to wear, so well made, and so impressive in all respects (including the price!) that even after being customers for almost 40 years, we are still amazed at how LL Bean delivers more than what the printed page indicates. ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
This coat is the perfect weight for "cold" san francisco winters. It's very light and fits well with a medium-weight sweater or hoodie underneath (I am 5'5", 115 lbs and got an XS). it's relatively water-repellant although i wouldn't wear it in a downpour. the fleece-lined collar and cuffs are a very nice touch, and the color is beautiful. it would be nice if it were just an inch or so longer, but it's a jacket so the length was not unexpected. i'm sure it would be great in colder temps too although I haven't had a chance to test that out yet. constructed durably, as is everything i have from LL Bean.
The sizing on this jacket seems small. I am large and take a true xl. Sleves seem to be the right length. I am returning the jacket-just too tight. Too bad it is a great price and seems just perfect. Just needs to fit.

So far this is the warmest and lightest coat I've ever owned, I am very happy with it. 2 things I wish it had though is maybe a drawstring at the waist for drafts, but for the most part I haven't felt many drafts yet. And two, maybe a flap that covers the zipper front, it just makes sense to keep out even more of the cold air.
