I was never one for down coats as they make women look large. I liked the looks of this one and found it not only flattering, but soft and snuggly! I bought one for myself and each of my 2 daughters - we wear them all the time here in upstate New York!
I really like the fit on this jacket. Unlike other down coats, this is figure-flattering and not bulky. However, it is not as warm as I thought it would be. We've had 10-degree weather recently, and the jacket did not do the job.
I got this jacket last year and it's the best winter coat I've ever owned. It's light weight, keeps me warm, but not too warm and I am always amazed at how comfortable I am wearing it in 20 degree weather. I also love that it does not attract pet hair. I wish LL Bean made a men's version, because I know my husband would love it too!
This is not so much about the jacket itself- It was a Christmas gift for my wife, and she loves it. I wish to commend the Customer Service folks for the prompt, no-hassle method that they provide for exchanges and returns. It's one of the reasons that I always consider L.L. Bean when I shop.
