This is a terrific jacket. I was looking for a warm jacket to wear on my early morning walks with my dog and this is it. I recieved it right before our first blast of winter cold. When the wind chill was near zero, I was toasty warm with just a turtleneck under the jacket. The wind doesn't go through the jacket or up the seeves, and the zipper has a little flap on the inside that keeps the wind out as well. I typically wear a medium, but ordered a large and am happy with it. I have room for sweaters, but it is not oversized or bulky. While a detachable hood would be nice, it isn't necessary if you wear a good hat. I read other reviews that recommend other changes, but I feel this would take away from the essence of the basic goose down jacket.
Although this jacket is light and warm, I wish for 2 extra things: 1. That it would be made in the USA 2. That it would have a hood (jackets with hoods are way more expensive).
I am a petite 5'2" & bought a Medium. It fits better than any jacket I've ever owned...sleeves aren't too long & it fits nice through the body. Very comfortable & warm - would highly recommend this jacket!
When I was looking at this jacket, I was a little afraid it would be too bulky. But I am very happy to report that it is not at all. It is super warm without all the bulk. Keeps the wind out and all the warmth in. I love the fact that the jacket comes down far enough but yet not too far. It is the most perfect jacket I have ever owned.
I also purchased the fleece lined hoodie to layer with this jacket, but you don't need it at all. On cold days you can wear a light shirt and be just fine. LOVE THIS JACKET!!!!
