I had to send the medium back because the sleeves were not long enough. . .I like the sleeves to at least come down to the middle of my hand. I just rec'd the large and it's waaaaaaaaay too big, but the sleeves are perfect. The description states the medium is a 10-12, which is what I am to a "T." I should've known the large (14-16) would be too big. I'm only 5' 7" and I am not overweight, but the sleeves on your coats are made too short. Keep this in mind if you're thinking of ordering this coat. I absolutely loved the color and style of the coat, but it just didn't work out for me. I'll be sending the large coat back as well.
Purchased this coat last year in a small petite, navy blue color. It is light weight and warm. The hood is also nice and warm. The only drawback are the sleeves, which are about 2 inches too short. Petite does not mean short arms!!! I kept the jacket any way b/c the price was great and i have gloves that cover the gap. If this get's re-designed, just adjust the arm length and this coat would be perfect....Oh, and add an inside pocket, Please!
This is a lovely coat in almost every way -- warm, soft, great fit, pretty, sturdy, washable, light.
But the arms are about 2 inches too short for winter wear. The sleeves are fine as long as you keep your arms by your sides, but lift them (to hold a leash, to walk), and the gap btwn gloves (even longer ones) and the botton the sleeve is significant. The whoosh of cold air undercuts everything else about the coat. I have not had this problem with other LLBean jackets.
I would recommend this enthusiastically to a friend with short arms.
If you redesign it, please note that in future reviews, b/c I would buy it again.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
So far, so good. I needed a new parka to replace my 3-yr old LL Bean parka (don't think style made any more)--which was disabled by a broken nylon zipper (I REALLY hate those zippers--they do nothing but unzip in one direction and otherwise get caught on fabric.) But, so far, not with my new coat. It's very warm and very lightweight. Time will tell how this zipper holds up...
