ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
Warm, not too bulky for down....works best with a Fleece layer below. Bought it a size larger than I would usually wear, so even with the fleece layer, the coat feels comfortable. Somewhat difficult to zip all the way up with a scarf on. Inside pocket is a good size, glad the outside pockets zip closed. Will be able to wear for many years.
I got this coat for my sister. She is often chilled easily in cool and cold weather. She was shopping for a new coat when I convinced her to let me find the right one from LL Bean. She LOVES it. She said she felt it being quite toasty inside when she just tried it on. It keeps her very warm.

I'd like to clear up some issues from previous reviews, As of Jan 2011: 1. There is a waist cord that can be tightened to stop air from blowing up the coat. 2. There is a cord in the hood to tighten it. 3. There is a slight, graduated brim on the hood but not the dorky beak-like brim that Bean coats used to have. 4. The sleeves are of a normal length for a non-tall garment. I am 5'10" and with my arms at my slides the sleeves come past my wrists. If I put my arms out my wrists do stick out. 5. The pockets are on the smallish side but you can zip a pair of thin gloves in them. 6. The lily pond green is a lively, lovely color. 7. The coat is very warm with a turtleneck and a sweater underneath.
