ProsGreat Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I have to say when I first got this coat last year I was skeptical as to how warm such a lightweight coat could be. It is very warm! I live where the temps. are often single digits and windchill can be below zero and it has kept me very warm and the length at just above mid-thigh makes it even better. It is slightly puffy, but not too much, although the way it is stitched on the outside gives a somewhat flattering look. The only downside would be the shorter than average sleeve length, it seems Bean's coats are always like this, but the size up to large makes it acceptable and allows for thicker sweaters and tops. Wish L.L. Bean would make their sleeves longer since they already make most items available in petite.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
This is a great coat. Light weight but warm. My walet fits the inside pocket with zipper. I wish it had a pocket on the other inside too. All pockets have zippers.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, goose down parka, comfortable fit, snug neckline great, fit to keep out cold
I just got this coat and I have to say that so far I am pleased.
I am waiting for the true test, which is cold weather. The weather in NYC is kind of warm. I will see the true test of this coat when it is 20 degrees.
I will rate this coat as 5 stars when it gets cold and I will stay warm.
I wore this parka only once and, while it did a good job of keeping me warm, it began shedding down feathers the very next day. I understand that this is the natural way of down products, but to have my brand new jacket emitting feathers immediately was a big disappointment. I have exchanged it for a Snowfield Jacket and hope there won't be any problems with that one.
