Definitely warm and light weight. I bought this based on others' recomendations, but kept the return slip just in case it wasn't warm enough. I was so surprized that I was warm in freezing temperature that I recommended it to everyone at work.

I am a nature teacher and guide who spends most of my days outdoors and I think that this is the absolute best winter jacket I've found! It's light, flattering, soft, extremely warm and has all the latest technical features I was looking for! I've been looking for the perfect winter jacket for a while now and even went as far as to buy a down jacket that was hyped as 800 fill, warmest jacket, by a name brand 'technical' company...one of the ones you've seen high adventure guides wear. I wore it on a 45 degree day and after 5 minutes, my arms were cold! I took it back the next day. My friend then recommended LL Bean. I've gotten great stuff from them for many years, so I checked them out. I loved the style, color (I got brown) and all the features (I needed a removable hood) and the reviews were great. I took a shot and ordered one in late November (in Northeast PA). I wore it out by our lake, which is always windy, the very next day and I didn't feel anything but warmth and coziness! I highly recommend this product!
-comfortable -pretty -warm -water resistant -wind resistant -the hood fits well -the fit is true -pockets are warm, comfy -2 way zipper is great! -soft and light -when you zip it all the way up, the part that touches your chin/neck is very soft. -It makes a great pillow/blanket! :p
Now, a month later when the temps have been in the teens, it is still super warm!
